The Steam summer sale is on its final day.  Nothing too amazing on the list.  I've picked up quite a few titles that are probably going to keep me busy until the sale happens again next year.  Hell, I may not even get around to playing some of them.  I've been spending today trying to earn a few more of the specific achievements associated with the sale.  I don't think I can handle trying to knock out more.  My final count comes to 18.  What could I possibly win?  Ten more titles of course.  Whew.  Just not enough time in the year.  Not all are associated with games.  Others had me write on a friend's wall, upload a video, or post a screenshot.  These are the easy entries that anyone can knock out in less than a minute.  The others...let's say some of them irritated the hell out of me.  Maybe it's because I've been away from PC gaming for so long.  The only titles I've played recently before the sale are Red Alert 3, Starcraft 2, and Terraria.  I had to get back into the swing of things.

Two of these achievements stick out.  "Fireth Of July" in Hoard and "Air. Wind. Sun. Pain. I Am All of This, and Your Mom Makes a Fine Pasta Dinner" in AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity.  The video for the second is posted below.  I felt the need to record it and post for the world to see.  These two have caused me the most grief.  Reckless Disregard was a lot of trial and error.  Hoard gets ridiculous as the time increases.  It is necessary to finish it as quickly as possible.  Both took me quite some time to knock out, and I'm glad they're finally done.

Besides those two titles, I also picked up Amnesia, Audiosurf, Back to the Future, Ben There, Dan That, Bit.Trip Beat/Runner, C&C4, Divinity 2, Doom 3, Dwarfs, Fallout: New Vegas, Frozen Synapse (gifted by Driz.  Thanks guy), Killing Floor, Lara Croft GoL, Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum, Nimbus, Sanctum,  Time Gentleman Please, Toki Tori, Universal Sandbox, and Wonderful End of the World.  I've tested a few of these so far, and plan to go back to others in greater detail soon.

The winner on the list has to be Killing Floor.  A few of us have spent most of this weekend playing.  We also have some gameplay videos added to our YouTube page.  The game came out two years ago, but it's new to us.  Killing Floor is a survival Horror FPS.  The game is played in waves.  It also supports multiplayer with up to six people (we're still looking for two more if anyone wants to join).  The number of waves, mobs, and difficulty can all be adjusted.  There are six different specs that each player can choose.  Each one gives different benefits for using certain weapons.  The specs can also gain levels by completing the tasks associated with each one.  These include killing a certain mob with a weapon, healing teammates, welding doors, and causing a set amount of damage.  It is lots of fun and I recommend it to any FPS fans out there.

The other titles I can't seem to put down are Audiosurf and Wonderful End of the World.  I'll write more on those and others over the next couple of weeks.  We do have a group page on Steam now.  Come join in the fun.
